Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do.

committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our pupils both inside and outside of school.

Here at Lindley Junior School, we take the safety of our children and staff very seriously. On this page, you will be able to find all our safeguarding information. 

In school, all adults are required to wear an identity badge, which reassures all pupils and staff that the people that are seen around school are allowed to be there. We encourage everyone to question anybody in school that does not have one of our badges on

We have staff who are trained to deal with safeguarding and child protection – our pupils and staff know who these people are, as the information is highly visible around the campus. In addition, all our staff receive regular training on safeguarding, and other high priority element of keeping your people safe.

All the trust’s academies have the ethos to create and maintain a safe learning environment where all children and adults feel safe, secure, and valued and know they will be listened to and taken seriously. Our academy is committed to ‘every child matters’, ‘keeping children safe in education’ and implements policies, practices and procedures which promote safeguarding and the emotional and physical wellbeing of children, young people and staff.

What is Safeguarding?

It might be difficult to accept, but every child can be hurt, put at risk of harm, or abused, regardless of their age, gender, religion, or ethnicity. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:

  • protecting children from maltreatment
  • preventing impairment of children’s mental health or development
  • ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
  • taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes

In line with statutory guidance, Lindley is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Every employee (permanent or temporary) and governor of the school, as well as every volunteer who assists at the school, is aware that it is their legal duty to protect children from harm.
