Uniforms help to define the ethos of an academy and the standards expected.
They help give pupils pride in their school and make them ambassadors for their school in the community.
As an academy we have designed our uniform to ensure that it is inclusive as possible, whilst being mindful to ensure that it is cost effective for parents/carers. The school uniform, which is worn by all pupils, is as follows:
Girls
- Plain grey skirt or
- Plain grey pinafore dress or
- Plain grey smart, tailored trousers (not jeans, leggings, sports trousers etc.)
- A combination of tailored trousers and pinafore dress is acceptable
- Plain grey tailored knee length shorts
- White shirt (long or short sleeved), which is worn tucked into the waist band
- School tie
- Bottle green cardigan/v-necked jumper/v-necked sweatshirt (with or without the
school logo) - Plain white or grey or black socks
- Thick tights for winter [school colours]
- Black sensible shoes with a low heel for safety (not trainers, open-toe sandals or
boots)
Alternatively, for summer, a short-sleeved dress in green and white check
Headscarf in grey, white or black
Boys
- Plain grey trousers (not jeans, cords or sports trousers, etc.) or
- Plain grey tailored knee length shorts
- White shirt, which is worn tucked into the waist band
- School tie
- Bottle green v-necked jumper or sweatshirt (with or without the school logo)
- Plain white or grey or black socks
- Black sensible shoes (not trainers, open-toe sandals or boots)
Equipment/clothing for physical education
Every child must change his/her clothing and footwear for each physical education activity. This is essential so that the clothing is suited to the physical activity, as well as to promote good hygiene. Drawstring P.E. bags are available from school.
Outside activities
Your child will need trainers or sports shoes, which are just used for sport. A school t-shirt in the appropriate house colour is available. A sensible tracksuit (preferably green or grey) would be helpful for cooler conditions. This is not essential, a warm jumper specifically for P.E. would be acceptable.
Outside activities playtime
Year six pupils have the opportunity to play football at lunchtime. Mud can be an issue, therefore we ask that pupils who wish to do this, bring an old pair of trousers to protect their uniform.
Inside activities (in school hall)
- School t-shirt in the appropriate house colour
- Plain black or navy shorts
- Plimsolls / pumps (not trainers)
Swimming
A towel and swimming kit, including swimming cap is needed during year four. Boys must wear trunks not shorts. Optional swimming bags are available from school.
Please provide a named drawstring bag to hold all kit. This should be of a size suitable to hang on a peg underneath a coat! Oversized bags cause major difficulties in the confined cloakroom space.
We can supply the swim / PE bags in the house colours at a price of £4.50 each

Alternatively orders can be placed by phone on 01484 506136 (9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday). Orders will then be delivered to school free of charge or delivered to your home address for a small charge.
As a school we will receive 5% cash back for all sales made via the service.
We always keep a stock of ties (£3.50) and PE / Swim bags (£4.50) in school.
